Latino Voters Targeted for Election Misinformation

Latino voters are set to play a pivotal role in November’s general election. With approximately 17.5 million members of the community expected to cast their ballots -- a 6.5% increase compared to 2020—their influence is growing rapidly. According to Pew Research, there are 36.2 million eligible Latino voters in total, marking a 50% increase from 2020.

For political campaigns, motivating eligible Hispanic voters to register and participate could be a game changer. Latino voters are particularly important in key swing states like Arizona, Nevada, Florida, and Texas, where they have the potential to significantly impact election outcomes. Their role in these battleground states means their voices could be decisive in shaping the election results.

Reaching Hispanic Voters this November

Latino Voters Targeted for Election Misinformation

Misinformation campaigns targeting Latino voters are on the rise, posing a serious threat to the integrity of their voting power. “Latinos have immense voting power and can make a decisive difference in elections, yet they are an under-messaged, under-prioritized audience,” said Arturo Vargas, CEO of NALEO Educational Fund. “Our vote has an impact. These bad actors know this, and one way to influence the Latino vote is to misinform.”

These bad actors often spread false information about critical issues such as immigration, and countering this misinformation is a growing challenge. It's essential for political campaigns to actively engage and inform Latino voters with accurate information this election season to ensure they are empowered to make informed decisions at the polls.

E-Planning: Reach & Engage Hispanic Voters

E-Planning has established direct relationships with Latino-owned and Spanish-language publications in the U.S., allowing campaigns to effectively reach and engage potential voters with tailored key messages.

Through these partnerships, campaigns can launch multi-pronged initiatives that encourage eligible voters to register, vote early in districts where early voting is available, and access accurate information about polling locations and processes. These efforts also serve as a critical countermeasure to misinformation campaigns targeting Latino communities.

To maximize engagement, campaigns can deliver their messages across multiple channels, including web, in-app ads, connected TV (CTV), and audio platforms. E-Planning's expansive reach ensures campaigns can connect with a wide audience, leveraging these various mediums to spread accurate and effective information.
